Young Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Symposium

The Emerging Leaders and Scholars Symposium and Training sessions bring together early-career, diverse cooperative development leaders and technical assistance providers with visionary leaders and mentors, who are interested in shaping the future of cooperative economics. The event includes a public symposium that will be codesigned by the members of CLS, YSI, and ICA. The Symposium will last for 2 hours and can include presentations, dialogue, and discussion panels. The symposium is designed to support the future of cooperative development and hear from emerging leaders about ways in which to grow the field.

Participants will leave with intentional engagement with cooperative development leaders in the US from various sectors, a broader mentor network, and increased potential to find and shape their own cooperative development and community engagement agenda. The successes of participants will be
highlighted, and the discussions are intended to lead to an article, with ongoing evolution for the future of advancing cooperative development both domestically and internationally.

Cooperative Development professionals and cooperative young scholars may apply for acceptance and funding to participate, which will support travel accommodation by June 20, 2023.
