Description
This reading group aims at exploring how the perspective of the postcolonial scholarship could open up new approaches to philosophy of economics/economic methodology. Our endeavor is inspired by the vibrant discussion on the need, possibility and promise of decolonizing economics. Once a month we will read and meet online to discuss a selection of chapters from the edited volume titled "Postcolonialism Meets Economics" by S. Charusheela and Eiman Zein-Elabdin.
Session 1 – March 17, 4pm CET:
• Introduction: economics and postcolonial thought by EIMAN O. ZEIN-ELABDIN AND S. CHARUSHEELA
• Ch1: Articulating the postcolonial (with economics in mind) by EIMAN O. ZEIN-ELABDIN
• Commentary: On the possibility of a postcolonial economic analysis: a comment on Zein-Elabdin and Charusheela by ANNE MAYHEW
