Description

The Amsterdam Center for Law and Economics (ACLE) and the Young Scholar Initiative (YSI) welcome submissions from young talents carrying out high-quality interdisciplinary research in the fields of Law & Finance, broadly construed.

The conference will take place on 27 and 28 October 2022 at the University of Amsterdam. We welcome a broad range of interdisciplinary contributions in the field of Corporate and Business Law, Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance, Financial Regulation, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technologies and related areas. Empirical, theoretical and analytical contributions and equally welcomed, as well as papers with a political economy approach.

We invite submissions by early career interdisciplinary scholars (indicatively, within 7 years from the PhD defense) on the subject matter. The conference is supported by a network of young scholars engaged in law&finance topics who are based, among other, at the University of Amsterdam, Bocconi University, Cambridge University, Frankfurt University; Hamburg University; Leeds University; National University of Singapore; Oxford University; Tilburg University, University of Zurich, Columbia Law School, Yale Law School. The selected presenters will receive feedback from a senior scholar of a university part of the network.

Practical Information
Please submit a paper; or an extended abstract (max. 1500 words) by following the submission link. The abstract should have a clearly defined problem statement, research question, methodology and (expected) findings. Please, also indicate up to five keywords and JEL Classification, if relevant.

Save the dates!
September 1st: submission deadline;
September 15th: notification of acceptance/rejection;
October 1st: final version of the paper due

Accommodation and Travel costs
In the application form, please indicate if you want to be considered eligible for a partial reimbursement of the accommodation and travel costs. The amount of the reimbursement of travel costs will depend on the area the presenter is located. PhD students and young academics with no travel budget from their home University will be prioritized. The maximum amount of the reimbursement will be announced later, depending on availability of funds.

The Young Scholar Initiative is a community of over 18000 students, young professionals, and researchers from across the globe pursuing new and critical ways of thinking about the economy. Within this community, the Finance, Law and Economics Working Group brings economists, lawyers and practitioners together to integrate macroeconomics, finance and legal studies in order to understand issues of financial stability, financial market reform and the future of the banking and payments systems.
