The theme of this year Workshop is "Revisiting Africa's Economic (Development Trajectory): Past, Present, and Future". The workshop is designed to provide a platform for intellectual exchange, collaboration, and networking among early career researchers passionate about African economic history and related disciplines.
Africa's economic development trajectory has been marked by significant challenges and opportunities over the past decades. As Africa continues to strive towards economic growth and development, there is a need to revisit its economic history, current status, and future prospects. We invite researchers and scholars to submit abstracts on the following sub-themes:

• Colonialism and its impact on African economies
• Role of African states in shaping the continent's economic history
2. Africa's Economic Development Trajectory: Present Status
• Current state of Africa's economy
• Analysis of key economic indicators and trends
• Drivers of economic growth and development in Africa
3. Africa's Economic Development Trajectory: Future Prospects
• Future trends and prospects for Africa's economy
• Opportunities and challenges for economic development in Africa
• Policy recommendations for driving sustained economic growth and development in Africa.
The workshop will bring together young scholars to engage in lively discussions on the historical context of African economic development, the current state of African economies, and the prospects for future growth and development. The aim is to critically examine various historical periods and explore the dynamics of economic growth and development, identify factors that hindered or facilitated economic growth, and evaluate policy options for achieving sustainable economic growth and development.
By revisiting Africa's economic development trajectory, the workshop seeks to provide fresh perspectives on the continent's economic history, which can inform policy decisions that are grounded in a deep understanding of the continent's past.
