Our structure

Anyone interested is welcome to become a member of YSI.  Although most of our members are PhD students in economics, there are no age-requirements or academic pre-requisites.

Organizers are those members willing to take an active role in the community may become organizers. Organizers take responsibility for projects like webinars and workshops. Interested in becoming an organizer? Learn more here.

Each working group has two or three coordinators, who serve as the primary points of contact for new members and support organizers in their projects.

An elected body of experienced YSI members, the Community Board  advises the working groups and YSI Management on broad developments and the health of the community.

Also known as the YSI Team, these are INET staffers who are responsible for the administration of the whole YSI community.  Email them at ysi@ineteconomics.org

YSI is an initiative of the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) in New York. INET carefully incubates new economic thinking within the academy and beyond, guiding the field away from economic orthodoxy so that it can free itself of inertia and past failures.

Together we explore our curiosity in economics.
