The YSI Economic Development Working Group is organizing a workshop in Ghana this October on Financing Innovation for Development. This will be a three-part workshop on topics ranging from financial inclusion, financing for development from a macro-perspective and financing infrastructure. It is a collaborating with the YSI WGs on Economics of Innovation, Urban and Regional Economics, and Africa.
The workshops will take place before the 16th Globelics Conference on Innovation, Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Strengthening Institutions for Greater Relevance, Effectiveness and Inclusivity, where Mariana Mazzucato is the keynote speaker. The conference will take place October 24th-26th 2018. The workshop will start October 23rd and run into the afternoon of the 24th.
There is no funding for YSI members to travel to this workshop, but GLOBELICS offers generous funding to scholars from developing countries if your paper is accepted. I would therefore encourage any of you interested to submit a paper by the CfP deadline of April 1st. Read more about the travel support here. We will open a call for participants for the people already accepted to the conference in May. YSI will provide funding for the additional night of accommodation as well as food and drinks during the conference.
