We are delighted to present a panel of three leading academics on the economics of innovation and industrial policy! This event will be structured around some big questions, followed by a Q&A and discussion with the audience. The questions we will focus on are: 1) What were the general trends with regards to industrial and innovation policy before the pandemic? What are the main lessons the pandemic has taught us? 2) How could industrial and innovation policies help countries in the global south to develop? 3) Will wider technological changes, e.g. wider use of digitally-enabled remote technologies, transform economies? What is the role for industrial policies to deal with those transformations?
