Research questions

  • Can industrial policy help (developing) countries face the contemporary challenges to innovation (e.g., healthcare, climate change, digitalization)?
  • How is the theory of firm’s innovation linked to the trends of global capital accumulation?
  • How could developing countries’ catching-up process be affected by Industry 4.0?
  • What is the public value of innovation? How can we switch from an economy characterized by value extraction to value creation?
  • What is the role of the State in the 21st century in terms of leading and encouraging innovation?
  • What are the role of innovation in economics and social development? How can innovation be socially inclusive?
  • What should be the priorities for public financing innovation?
