Description
Promoting innovation has become common practice across the world due to its social and economic transformative power. As innovation becomes recognised as part of the development agenda, a key challenge is to better understand innovation in a development context and how policy can support it. Nevertheless, considerations of innovation in Africa remain disconnected to some of the continent’s central socio-economic features. This webinar will discuss innovation systems and innovation policy in the context of Africa. In particular, it will zoom into the implications of such considerations for the continent’s predominant economic activity: the informal economy.
