Description

This reading group aims at exploring how the perspective of the postcolonial scholarship could open up new approaches to philosophy of economics/economic methodology. Our endeavor is inspired by the vibrant discussion on the need, possibility and promise of decolonizing economics. Once a month we will read and meet online to discuss a selection of chapters from the edited volume titled "Postcolonialism Meets Economics" by S. Charusheela and Eiman Zein-Elabdin.

Session 4 – June 23, 4pm CET:
• Ch9: Hybrid thinking: bringing postcolonial theory to colonial Latin American economic history by KAREN B. GRAUBART
• Commentary: Econometrics and postcolonial theory: a comment on the fluidity of race by CECILIA A. CONRAD
