Call for papers

This is a call for papers of the ”Inclusive Institutions and Long-term Economic Development” workshop in Lund, Sweden, from 18 to 19 September 2019
Deadline for submissions in the YSI pre-conference workshop session is August 25th.
This is a pre-conference workshop before the 6th annual WINIR Conference (19-21 Sept 2019, Lund, Sweden) on “Institutions for Inclusive Societies – Global & comparative perspectives". ”Inclusive Institutions and Long-term Economic Development” workshop primarily would be a stage for the young scholars to present their work.
The aim of the workshop is to provide more time for discussion in which everyone participates, to make the workshop more lively and engaging while also get some feedback from established scholars from Geoffrey M. Hodgson Professor in Management, Loughborough University London and from Tobias Axelsson Senior lecturer at Department of Economic History Lund University.
For the YSI pre-conference workshop, the organizers encourage contributions related (but not limited) to the following topics:
• of long-term development;
• inequality;
• questions on state capacity
o taxation,
o role of state and
o role of public investments in economic development;
• questions on globalizations
o lessons learned from previous waves of globalization;
o the effect of globalization on the standards of living and capabilities of people globally.
All applicants must submit an abstract in English (600 words maximum) and a motivation for attending the conference (500 words maximum). The submission deadline is August 25th. Decisions will be made in end-August and will be based on clarity, relevance and originality of abstracts outlining the research question, method and (preliminary) results. Accommodation and partial travel support will be offered for selected participants. Please note that the acceptance for the pre-conference workshop doesn’t include the registration fee and stay for the main conference.
