Dear all,
The YSI history of economics working group will start a webinar series where we will read and discuss key texts in the history of science literature of the past couple of decades. Our goal is to engage with this literature as a valuable source of inspiration for historians of economics.
An introductory meeting will take place on December 4, at 4pm CET. The theme of this first meeting will be historical epistemology and discussion will be based on the following references:
-
Feest, Uljana, Thomas Sturm. 2011. "What (good) is historical epistemology." Erkenntnis 75 (3), 285-302.
-
Stapleford, Thomas. 2017. "Historical Epistemology and the History of Economics: Views Through the Lens of Practice." Research in the History of Economic Thought and Methodology 35 (A), 113-145.
-
Daston, Lorraine, H. Otto sibum. 2003. "Introduction: Scientific personae and their histories." Science in context 16 (1-2), 1-8.
At the end of the meeting we will discuss the schedule of the next 4-5 meetings, where we will discuss Daston and Galison's Objectivity (2007).
