Invitation to Participate in the Mo Ibrahim Foundation Now Generation Forum

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation (MIF) is inviting 2-5 members of YSI Africa to participate in this year's Now Generation Forum (NGF) which will take place in Abidjan from the 5-7th April, 2019. The NGF is held ahead of the the Ibrahim Forum, providing a space for young people (under the age of 35) to convene and seek to gather youth perspectives on the themes being discussed at the Ibrahim Forum. The NGF takes the format of a free-flowing debate after which a representative from the group will bring the NGF perspectives and conclusions into the Ibrahim Forum panels on the following day. Over the course of the weekend, there will be networking opportunities and access to all Foundation events including side events such as Africa Report Debate. Additionally, an exclusive "Now Generation" media moment and reception will be held where participants will have direct access to the media, influencers and MIF Board members.

They are looking for participants that are African citizens, under the age of 35, ideally representing different parts of the continent. The participants should be able to actively contribute to discussions on the forum topic (this year the topic is African Migrations: Looking at the migration dynamics on the continent, and its linkages to youth, employment and mobility).

Please send short page bio and why you think you should be selected for this opportunity (not more than 1 page) to africa@youngscholarsinitiative.org by Monday 4th February, 2019, 5pm GMT. Please include your institutional affiliation and email address in your application. Only successful applicants will be contacted. Funding will be provided by INET and MIF.
