tomorrow (April 22) closes the submission of abstract or papers for the YSI Europe Regional Convening (Trento, May 31 – June 3)
The YSI Cooperative and Cooperation Working Group will be present at the 2018 Trento Festival of Economics! We are therefore looking for contributions in the form of research papers or presentations.
The theme of the Trento Festival of Economics this year is Technology and Jobs. Technological innovations have major impacts on the labour market but the precise impact depends on how society manages the innovations. Both the organisation of production and the ownership of technology are vital aspects to consider. What role could cooperatives play in ensuring that the impact of technological innovations on employment is to the benefit of society as a whole? In the face of technological change, could cooperatives provide the framework for low unemployment and/or increased leisure time?
It follows that we invite contributions that focus on the following theme, interpreted widely: Cooperatives and the Future of Employment
