UNCTAD Summer School –Geneva, Sept 2018

Dear Young Scholars,

UNCTAD and YSI are excited to invite you for the UNCTAD Summer School 2018. The activity will be held from 3 to 7 September 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland. The school aims to bring together academics, policy experts and young policymakers and scholars, to participate in an international debate on globalization and the management of its consequences for developing countries.

The theme of UNCTAD Summer School 2018 is: Money, finance and debt – Old debates and new challenges.

The activity is designed to provide Young Scholars with a unique opportunity to present their research, interact with delegates from UN member states and policy experts from UNCTAD, as well as discuss relevant global economic issues:

Thanks to the support of YSI and UNCTAD, selected young scholars will receive financial support for tickets and accommodation in Geneva.
Each day of the school will cover a different topic. Mornings will feature lecture by experts and academics while the afternoons will be devoted to presentations by Young Scholars.
Lecturers include: Richard Kozul-Wright (UNCTAD), Stephanie Blankenburg (UNCTAD), Gary Dimsky (University of Leeds), Penelope Hawkins (UNCTAD), Daniela Gabor (UWE Bristol), Mary Everett (Central Bank of Ireland), among others (for a full program, please refer to the event website)
The format of the sessions for Young Scholars is designed to provide selected participants with a setting for in depth presentations and debate with UNCTAD experts and delegates from UN member states.
