In this breakfast roundtable, we aim to bring together young scholars to present their current research and to reflect on the Future of Urban Research. While we welcome all relevant research, there is an additional focus on fiscal policy, environmental sustainability, and the effect of business cycles at the subnational level. Each young scholars will have a few minutes to present themselves and delineate their research, followed by comments of mentors and other participants.
MENTOR: Prof. Mildred Warner (Cornell University) will act as a mentor. She is an international expert on restructuring local government services, how to plan for more child and age-friendly cities, and how to promote environmental sustainability at the local level. Warner works closely with local government, planners, policy analysts, economic developers, and union leaders both in the U.S. and abroad.
HOW TO APPLY: Young scholars interested in joining it must send us an e-mail (urban@youngscholarsinitiative.org) with their affiliation and a brief description of their research.
