Research questions

  • Where does regional integration go from here? In the past years, there has been a change in the direction of regional integration for Latin America. What are the implications for regional trade in Latin America?
  • Growth and development from north-south & south-south perspectives: The nature of the relationship between Latin American economies and those of the global north has had a strong influence on Latin America’s growth.
  • How do we make sure that we can make compatible equality with structural change and environmental sustainability?
  • What kind of new social compacts / political agreements would be necessary to ensure an integrated set of policies for sustainability and equality?
  • Should public development banks have bigger role? How could they serve to the transition to a low carbon and fair economy?
  • How do we put innovation at the centre of the welfare state?
  • What is the Political Economy behind direct and indirect climate change effects?
