Description
The Keynesian and Inequality Working Groups are happy to announce a call for papers to the YSI Pre-conference @ ASTRIL 2023. We invite you to submit your abstract to the pre-conference event organized by the Young Scholars Initiative at the ASTRIL annual conference. The pre-conference will take place at Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy on January 18. Young scholars can apply to the call for abstracts of both working groups. If selected, you will be invited to present your work. Selections will be made based on merit (partial travel stipends, and accomodation available for selected participants).
The last two years were marked by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, the war in Ukraine and the strong upswing in commodity and energy prices bringing further challenges to economic policy worldwide. The macroeconomic situation imposes on us the necessity of providing answers to the present policy debates and dilemmas. Young researchers are invited to contribute to the ongoing policy debate.
The YSI Pre-conference Workshop at the 6th International ASTRIL Conference is a great opportunity to bring together young researchers to present their work, receive feedback from colleagues, and discuss potential collaborations. We invite young scholars to tackle relevant policy issues on the current macroeconomic challenges and their repercussions on the labor market.
We encourage contributions related (but not limited) to the following topics:
(1) Wages, inflation and collective bargaining;
(2) Current macroeconomic perspectives;
(3) Structural changes and the labor market;
(4) The reshaping of the welfare systems.
The project is a partnership with the Association for Interdisciplinary Studies and Research on Labor (Associazione Studi I Ricerche Interdisciplinari sul Lavoro, ASTRIL) and Roma Tre University, co-organizor of the 6th International ASTRIL Conference. The participation in the main event is free.
All applicants must submit an abstract in English (300 words maximum). The submission deadline is December 20. Decisions will be made based on clarity, relevance and originality of abstracts outlining the research question, method and (preliminary) results.
Important Dates:
